Senator Andy Uba (APC, Anambra) has been sued before an FCT High Court sitting in Apo over alleged certificate forgery.
In the suit, the plaintiff, Uchenna Nnadi through his lawyer, Ezenwa Igbegbunam, in the originating summons raised five issues for determination.
The plaintiff is praying the court to determine whether Uba having not been educated up to at least senior school certificate level or its equivalent can stand for election or be elected into the National Assembly or office of the governor of Anambra State.
The plaintiff also accused Uba of being an ‘impostor’ in relation to his academic credentials. He prayed the court to declare that the defendant is not educated up to school certificate level and presented a forged school certificate that qualified him as a senator and he is therefore not qualified or eligible to stand for National Assembly election or any other election in Nigeria.
Nnadi is also praying the court to declare that the election that brought Uba into office as senator representing Anambra South Senatorial Zone was “illegal, null, void, unconstitutional and therefore of no effect whatsoever.”
The case has been assigned to Justice Valentine Ashi, no date has yet been fixed for hearing.
